Taylor + Jarrod | Bahamas
I’ve finally had a little free time to post some pictures from our vacation to Nassau. If you haven’t been, GO! Its the most amazing island i’ve ever been to. The water was mesmerizing. The people were amazing and very attentive. The food was yummy, we ate so much sea food.. and good sea food! Not the kind you get back in Kansas. When we arrived we took a taxi from the airport to the Bob Marley Resort and Spa where we stayed through the duration of our trip, this was also Bob Marley’s vacation home: It was stunning to say the least. Jarrod and I didn’t hang out much there during the trip but when we did we were greeted with nothing but the best hospitality. The bartender, Jessie was seriously the coolest gal we met on the trip! She loaded us up with so much history of the island and made sure we always had a drink in our hand and food when we needed it. She truly made the resort unforgettable. On our first day Jarrod and I went on an amazing excursion to Rose Island. We met the ferry close to the Atlantis resort and took a short 30 minute ride to the island. You guys this place was amazing! It was so secluded, we got to swim and feed the pigs, lounge in hammocks and the all you can drink special was pretty amazing. After 6 hours and several shots of Don Juilo it was time to venture back to Nassau.. trust me it was time to go! I told JK that we had to do pictures while we where in the Bahamas.. duh I’m a photographer, and he’s a pretty cute subject. The pictures turned out wonderful considering my camera was on a tripod and I was using my phone as a trigger. The next day we hung out down town, found a bar that set up lounge chairs for us and we laid in the sand and drank several Bahama mamas. Later we went shopping at the straw market and a few other souvenir shops. Downtown was so colorful! On the final day we woke up early and went snorkeling, something I’ve always wanted to do. It was chilly that day but Jarrod and I jumped right in on the first stop to see the underwater museum and a plane crash site. I only have a couple pictures from snorkeling because my go-pro died.. I was seriously devastated!! We then went to the coral reef to see some of the most colorful fish in the Caribbean. The last stop of the snorkeling trip was swimming with the sharks! Jarrod and I debated on whether or not we were going to do this one, however by the time we got out to that site a storm was rolling in and the temp dropped drastically so we bailed and stayed on the boat after everyone else experienced the sharks the crew on the boat brought them to the surface and that alone was an experience! Later that evening we were sunburned and tired, we missed home and we were ready to pack up for the flight home the next morning. It was so much fun to spend a few days in the Caribbean with Jarrod and we are super excited for the next trip.
